Supply Chain Redesign

Mieloo & Alexander conducted a Supply Chain quick scan followed by a detailed Supply Chain Analysis. Outcome was an advice to adapt the Suplpy Chain structure to meet the meet the future customer demand

Mieloo & Alexander conducted a Supply Chain Quick Scan beginning of 2009. The findings showed that the structural design of the Supply Network, and the supply chain processes and underlying systems operating the Supply Network, are not able to meet the demand of customers for increasing service levels, or the internal need for higher efficiency and cost reductions.  More detailed analysis is needed to validate and quantify the findings of the Supply Chain Quick Scan, and to recommend the most optimal supply chain for AB Enzymes.

Mieloo & Alexander performed a detailed analysis of the supply chain model of AB Enzymes. And presented the final recommendations for adapting the structural design of the Supply Network, to enable AB Enzymes to meet the demand of customers for increasing service levels, and provide in the internal need for higher efficiency and cost reductions.
The results of the detailed analysis enclosed:

Feasibility assessment and quantified business benefits of local make-to-order operation;

  • High level process, systems and organization design;
  • Transition plan and indicative effort and cost of transition.

Key Figures:

  • Program definition and planning;
  • Validation and quantification of the results of the Supply Chain Quick Scan (performed by Mieloo & Alexander in January 2009), i.e. end customer demand spread, product value density, etc.
  • Delivering the following key supply chain data: – The maximum product value density of semi finals and supply chain cost curve of AB Enzymes;
  • The supply chain planning strategy in the local make-to-order model;
  • The local make-to-order operations requirements definition;
  • The operational cost and benefit analysis of the local make-to-order model (including customs, regulations, etc.);
  • The high level process, system and organisation design of the local make-to-order model; – An initial assessment of the best fitting ERP system for AB Enzymes;
  • The high level transition plan to achieve the local make-to-order supply chain model.
  • Providing a Business Case for the combined implementation of local make-to-order and the ERP system.
