RFID Hardware

A thermal printer prints barcodes and alphanumeric characters on RFID tags. At the same time, the printer encodes the embedded chip. RFID antennas in the tag emit and receive radio waves so the RFID chips can be detected by RFID readers.

These are also called interrogator and are the brains of the RFID environment. RFID readers transmit and receive radio waves in order to communicate with RFID tags, if the tags have antennas. Fixed RFID readers are typically mounted on walls, desks, portals and other stationary locations. Mobile RFID readers are often handheld and accompany humans.
